Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Hamza Hannad (“we”) about your use of the Balote game. By installing or playing Balote, you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the game.

Who can play

You must be at least 13 years old. If the law where you live sets a higher age for agreeing to terms like these, that age applies to you.

Your licence

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and play Balote on devices you control, for your own entertainment.

You may not: sell, rent, or sublicense the game; reverse-engineer or decompile it, except where the law says you may; use bots, modified clients, or tools that automate play or reveal information the game does not show you; interfere with other players’ matches; or use the game to break the law.

Your account

You are responsible for what happens on your account and for keeping access to it secure. Guest accounts live on a single device — if you lose the device or clear the app’s data without linking the account to a sign-in method, that progress is gone and we cannot restore it.

We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, in particular for abusive behaviour in voice chat or for cheating.

Coins, cosmetics, and other virtual items

Coins, card backs, table felts, avatars, celebrations, and any other in-game item are a limited licence to use them inside Balote. They are not your property, they are not currency, and they have no value outside the game.

You cannot cash them out, transfer them, or sell them. We may change what items cost, what they do, or how they look, and we may withdraw items from sale. If your account is closed for breaking these terms, or if you delete it, any remaining coins and unused items are forfeited.

Purchases and refunds

Purchases are sold and processed by Apple or Google, not by us. Their terms and their refund policies apply. If you want a refund, request it from Apple or Google — we cannot issue one on their behalf.

If you buy something and it is not delivered, contact us at support@balote.ma and we will investigate.

Advertising

The free version of Balote shows ads. You can remove them by buying the ad-removal product. Removing ads does not remove other in-app purchases or change anything else about the game.

Behaviour at the table

Balote has voice chat. When you use it, you must not harass, threaten, insult, or abuse other players, and you must not use it to share illegal content.

Every player can mute the table, mute one player, block a player so you are never seated with them again, and report a player. We review reports and may mute, suspend, or close accounts as a result.

Voice chat is between players in real time. Use your judgement about what you say to strangers.

Availability

We do not promise that the game will always be available, that online matches will always work, or that saved games will never be lost. We may change, suspend, or end features — including online play — at any time. If we shut the service down permanently, we will give notice in the game where we reasonably can.

Our liability

The game is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties, and we are not liable for lost progress, lost coins, lost profits, or indirect or consequential loss.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, you keep all the rights your local consumer law gives you, and nothing in these terms takes those away.

Where our liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Ending this agreement

You can end it any time by deleting your account and uninstalling the game. We can end it if you break these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive — virtual items, liability, and governing law — survive.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Morocco, and disputes go to its courts. If you are a consumer resident in the EEA or the UK, you may also bring proceedings in your country of residence, and mandatory consumer protections there still apply.

Apple App Store

If you got Balote from the App Store: this agreement is between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the game or for support. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version, and we will tell you in the game about significant changes. Continuing to play after a change means you accept it.
